Call for Zombie Love!

There are some who just can't go there, but we're much more creative. We will boldly go where no romance writer has gone before.

So we're doing an anthology of zombie love stories, as well as a possible collection of Zombie romance novellas. This is love amongst the undead, between zombies and the living, and (we hope) many stories about the hot, alpha male and female zombie killers (I actually think this is where there's real opportunity). I know some of you will take this opportunity to give me cross genre tales I can't even imagine (zombie/vampire lovin' perhaps?). But let's be bold. One of my writer's jokingly offered, "Scarlett O'Hara, Zombie Killer," but who amongst us could refuse to read that one?

But seriously, folks. The zombie metaphor is rich. You know - we're all really zombies; our jobs make us zombies; zombies are a reflection of the mindless horde that is America, rotting on its own abundance. This Meth epidemic is making zombies of us all.

And the socio/political/scientific elements of the zombie mythos are ripe for exploration. What's it like to be king of the Zombies? Would zombie TV be any different? What exactly would it be like to be a zombie in love? Or to love a zombie?

So, hit me with your best shot.

Short stories should run between 1500 and 5000 words, and novellas between 20,000 and 30,000 words.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the nature of this anthology, the emphasis in these stories should be on the "romance" and not necessarily the "erotic." But let's see what you can do. Deadline: August 31.

Please email me at lperkinsagency@ yahoo.com and let me know if you are working on a story and/or novella.

I already have interest from a hardcover limited edition publisher, as well as two trade publishers, so we are hoping this RR book has many lives.

5 Star Friday Again and the RR Ning

Today's Five Star Friday Title is Tarotica by Amber Austin (who just posted her 10 Things You Don't Know About Me on the ALL NEW Ravenous Romance Ning, which is a blast! You'll find my 10 Things list there too). This is a great title about a woman who explores herself while journeying through the Tarot deck. I love it! And so do so many of our readers and reviewers, that it's recieved a number of 5 star reviews. Today only, you can buy it for $2.49!

Now, About that RR Ning. It's a great networking place for all romance readers and writers which was set up by one of our RR authors, Keta Diablo, who also writes for Phaze and Siren. Below is her note about what we're trying to do here:

1) The most important rule. Have fun. Everyone is welcome here, bloggers, writers (even if you write for other publishers), readers. We are all in this crazy publishing thing together, so let's support each other. Feel free here to promote your books and strut your stuff. Bloggers, help one another. If a blog is listed, visit it, follow it and in turn, you'll make friends! Readers, feel free to tell us what you like in books, what you don't like and what you'd like to see more of (or not). Without readers, authors wouldn't exist, and believe me, we never lose sight of that.

2) Rule number two: Absolutely no bashing of authors, publishing houses, bloggers, people in any shape, form or manner. Most of you who know me on a personal level know that I loathe picking on people, bashing or negative personal commentary. Those bashing on the RR Ning will be banned by ME.

That's it. This ning is maintained and owned by ALL RR authors, not just me. So please participate, have fun and may you all have the best sales and success possible.

Writers Point of View for Epublishing

I'm posting this link to an article by a Sci-Fi writer on why epublishing is the future for writers.

It's always fascinating to see this story from different perspectives.
